Who Are We?

CrossFit High Octane was founded in April 2012 by Ryan Cullen. Ryan’s vision was to create a community-based box that provided exceptional coaching in a safe and fun environment, and his dedication to delivering his vision every day is why so many athletes call CFHO home. Anyone who walks through our door is welcomed into an encouraging, motivating, and safe environment, so if you’re ready to get started, we’re ready to welcome you home.

 

What does High Octane mean?

High Octane metaphorically means powerful and dynamic.  Octane is a component of fuel that acts as an intensifier.  The meaning of High Octane is symbolic for each and every athlete at CFHO.  In time, every athlete is capable of increasing their power, becoming more dynamic in their movements, and in turn intensifying their results and performance.  Every new day is a part of a journey and without intensity every day would be just like yesterday.  We want all our athletes to achieve their ultimate goals by applying the high octane process.

What can I expect in a WOD?

At CFHO, our training staff will work with each athlete on the components of physical fitness:  cardio-respiratory endurance, strength, stamina, flexibility, coordination, agility, balance, accuracy, power and speed.  Each component improves, your overall fitness and will be applied in multiple variations throughout the WOD’s.  The constant variation is one of the key components of CrossFit.  At CFHO, we run, row, jump, pull, push, lift, stretch, and so much more.  We also use barbells, tires, kettlebells, sleds, sledgehammers, and boxes.  Every WOD is fun, challenging, unique and hardly ever duplicated.

How can CFHO help me reach my goals?

As soon as you join, we want to know your short-term and long-term goals.  They can be weight loss, running your first marathon, or just overall health. The coaching staff will assist you in making sure you are staying on track with your nutrition and your workouts.

What type of environment/community can I expect?

It is not about how many reps you can do of a particular movement. It’s about your growth from one rep to five, five to ten, then three sets of ten. It’s a place of small victories and of great triumphs. It’s not a place about weight or waist sizes but more about how you feel in your cloths. At CFHO, the unachievable becomes achievable. Here you will connect with others but more importantly, you will achieve a new awareness of your abilities and accomplishments.

What does my membership include?

Once you have completed the CrossFit 101 series, your monthly membership gives you unlimited access to all our regular classes.  We are open 7 days a week and offer over 30 classes per week.  We even have a yoga class and an open gym class for you to work on a skill or do a WOD you might have missed earlier in the week.
